TBLLA Associate Features in Prestigious European Journal

We are proud to share that Alex van Zyl, associate at Tom Barratt Ltd., recently published her research confronting retreating glaciers in the European Journal of Landscape Architecture (JoLA).

After being vetted by peer review, the article, “Aesthetic Creation Theory applied: A tribute to a glacier”, was released earlier this summer. Regional BC media has shown interest in the more tangible aspect of her thesis, recently interviewing Alex and exploring the question: if we can’t do anything to stop the short-term melt of glaciers that we live and recreate amongst, what can we do?

South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park - National Award

The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects  awarded TBL with a National Award for the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park project.

TBL led a complete user, trail, signage, and campground inventory, a Bear Hazard risk assessment and Archaeological overview in the large remote wilderness park.

Whistler Carleton Lodge & Skier Plaza

Tom Barratt Ltd. was awarded an Illuminating Engineering Society of North America 'Award of Merit' for the Carleton Lodge & Skier Plaza upgrade project in Whistler BC.
